We are education researchers focused on producing and disseminating knowledge to guide the effective implementation of full-service community schools (FSCSs).
The FSCS strategy is the preferred reform in several large cities (e.g., Baltimore, Chicago, New York City), and is rapidly expanding into rural and suburban communities.
In the United States, there are over 5,000 of these schools serving over 2 million students. This growth has been supported by new state and federal funding for FSCS implementation. Research on FSCSs has also increased, documenting their promise as an “evidence-based strategy for equitable school improvement.”
Our Mission
To champion the success of FSCSs, this website houses research and research-based tools we have produced over the last decade. We hope researchers and education leaders find these resources useful as they plan, implement, and evaluate the FSCS strategy. FSCSs have the potential to transform the educational experiences of underserved students, families, and communities. Effective implementation is key; let’s all do our part to make it happen!
