Full-Service Community Schools

An equity-oriented strategy, full-service community schools (FSCSs) holistically respond to students’ needs to improve educational experiences and outcomes for underserved populations.

They are characterized by four pillars of practice:

(1) extended in and out-of-school time learning opportunities

(2) integrated service provision

(3) family and community partnerships

(4) collaborative leadership and decision making.
