Maryland State Dept. of Education
Community schools are schools that develop and utilize partnerships to connect the school, students, families, and surrounding community to the resources needed in order to thrive.
University of Maryland Schools of Social Work:
SWCOS began working with schools as a school mental health provider, and for more than 10 years.
Coalition for Community Schools
The Coalition for Community Schools, housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership, is an alliance of national, state, and local organizations in education K-16, youth development, community planning and development, family support, health, and human services, government and philanthropy as well as national, state and local community school networks.
Children’s Aid Society
The Children’s Aid National Center for Community Schools is a practice-based technical assistance organization that builds the capacity of schools, districts, and community partners to organize their human and financial resources around student success.
National Education Association
NEA and its leaders and members in public schools across the country, have joined with families, communities, school districts, and other key partners, to implement a powerful tool to achieve “the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world.”
